America First Credit Union (inside Smith's) W 9000 S, West Jordan

It is gratifying to be recognized (even with a Covid mask) and greeted enthusiastically. The managers are responsive to our business needs. The tellers are accurate and through. I rarely have to wait, because they have several tellers helping customers.

We went to get a personal loan and not the greatest experience. We talked to 3 different people and we were told different things over the phone how to use our loan that we were approved for! This was unacceptable, first this Jake or Jacob said we could pay off a few credit cards than use the remaining money to write someone a check out too. I called twice to verify this before coming in. They ran our credit twice as well and we told them to take the other one off our credit. This loan was for our wedding/ and a car not for credit cards. Once we got there to sign for the loan Mckallie told us no we were approved for the 10,000 but only for our credit cards to pay off! This is unacceptable service when nobody knows what is going on!! All I have to say is Thank you too Gabrielle Shipley she knows her facts and helped us and went out of her way to help us. She is the only reason this location is getting 3 stars. She should be managing this location.

I do not reccomend America First Credit Union to anyone. I have been a member for 27 years and they have finally lost my respect. Being a member of the military has its sacrifices. What I didn't realize is that those sacrifices can often include hits to your credit. When I joined the military I was told that all debt payments would be deferred while on orders. That didn't happen, because of this my credit took a hit. When I went to my credit union of 27 years they offered me an 11% interest rate on an auto loan and all they had to say is that I was worth no more an my experian credit score. That they wouldn't lend to me at any less of an interest rate than 11%. Even though my score is good with Equifax and Transunion and I have paid every loan off with interest, I was not worthy of any sort of "normal" interest rate. I have receivd a 5% loan from USAA who understands our service members. Shame on America First.

America First is hands down the best credit union. They are very knowledgeable and are constantly coming up with new things to help track your finances. They have a wonderful product called a dedicated savings that helps you get CD rates with a lower balance. Their Mobile app is really good and easy to use .

AFCU's tellers are always helpful. They have free ATMs all over the country and between their mobile app and certain branches that stay open late like this one they are convenient to use.

Well I used to love them but as soon as my check deposits on the 22nd I will be paying off my LOC and closing all accounts! I’ve been with them for a few years now and they denied my vehicle loan! I have a steady job in business development and they lied about my credit score I went to check for myself cuz they were saying I have deliquencies and a bad credit score and nope! I have good credit and no deliquencies! They should probably figure out how to check that stuff right and the fact that they can’t really makes me nervous as a customer to even let them handle money in the first place! So as of the 22nd ADIOS America First! I’ll be leaving to a more trustworthy cash handling facility!

I DO NOT recommend getting a vehicle loan though America First. Firstly the online banking is horribly set up. I have been back and forth with customer service trying to figure out why the online banking will not let me log in for weeks. Customer service has given me no help whatsoever and simply states that they do not know what or why any problem happens. The biggest complaint is that I received a letter in the mail 1 month after I was approved for my loan at the dealership. The letter stated that they had reviewed my application for a loan and are denying my application based on my credit. I WAS ALREADY APPROVED AND HAD MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT TO MY CURRENT LOAN! When I called and asked customer service why I had received this letter and they shuffled me around on hold to different departments and eventually told me they simply did not know why I received that letter. I am constantly frustrated with the customer service, the online banking, and the lack of organization this credit union seems to have.

Hate that all the locations are closed and that I have to go inside Smiths. Why does a phone call take so long when all the branches are closed? Employees could answer phone since they arent working at the banks. Guess its time for a new bank. Thankfully, plenty of competition. Open the damn doors! Every bank in a grocery store should leave!

Very rude people. I was told by a banker at this credit union that she couldn't help me open a car loan application because I didn't have an account with them. She was super rude to me. I will never gonna do business with American First Credit Union.
