Credit unions are always better than setting up checking and savings accounts. America first has low interest rates and friendly staffing been banking there for years and they're opening up a new location in Sparks coming soon 🙌🙌 holla

I'm amazed to see the negative reviews. My experience has been very different. From my 7% Visa card to getting a loan on a basic 1971 Camaro (15 years ago, before they became "hot"). A typical bank won't give you a loan on a 25+ year old car unless there's something special about it (for example a restored Shelby Cobra Mustang, etc.). My 25 year old son got a 3.5% loan on a 10 year old Toyota. And by the way, he works 30 hours a week, not full time. At the end of the day, AFCU is truly the best bank I've ever used.

The worst financial institution to get a loan from. No one is on the same page. You get incorrect info, they give you the run around. Its absolutely ridiculous. They make the process much harder than it should be. Unfortunately we decided to give them a shot and instantly regretted doing so. Theres much better credit unions in town that give you way better service.

I will never in my life ever finance with America First if I could give 0 stars I would. I applied for an RV loan, and after jumping through hoops because the company I work for just started up a few weeks ago and they "couldn't confirm it on google" even though I provided the recent application for a nevada business license, our sites were we run our business through, they denied my loan yet I have sufficient income. That is not the way a company should be run and the underwriters should not be conducting business then. Do not I repeat DO NOT ever finance with America First.

Had my loan with America first for over a year now. Very easy and I got a pretty good rate for my 03 duramax. Its nice now we have a location in town now.

This is by far the worst financial institution I have ever dealt with. I have dealt with several financial institutions in the United States as well as overseas and I have never been as poorly treated as I have been with this credit Union. To start with all I did was get a loan and they couldn't fund it within 30 days so I had to resign the contract. They then sent me the wrong information to log into the web account to make my first payment. Customer service at one point called me to see if I would be interested in refinancing my car or anything else with them and when I said no because I've had issues from day one the customer service lady didn't say another word and just hung up on me. Tonight I went to make the first payment on my loan it took me 45 minutes to even get set up to do it and when I wanted to transfer from an outside institute the credit union made me go through so many verification steps that it was almost ridiculous and then when I finally was able to do it because I didn't know where my mother lived because I haven't spoken to her since 2008 they put a hold on my transfer and wouldn't let me make the payment. So I decided to eat the cost of using a debit card which they said was $8 just to make my loan payment. At the end of the day it boils down to I have had nothing but issues with the bank nothing but disrespect and they have done nothing to prove that they care about me or my business. And I am already looking to refinance this loan out of this Bank. Thank you for replying. It's would love help with this, the problem being I spoke to customer service and they did nothing to help. If anything they made the situation more frustrating. This is still by far the worst bank. The online system is constantly not working and I can't ever talk to someone unless I sit on hold for well over 30 minutes

    Response from the owner

Googled America First CU today to make a referral to a family member - very Surprised to see Negative reviews. I have Half a dozen years experience with this Credit Union (well before they opened a local NV branch) and they are top notch, great service, always take great care of our financial transactions. I highly recommend AFCU (We moved from EDSB). Most recent loan was for a fun spontaneous car purchase - called them on a SATURDAY morning & was preaaproved over the phone in minutes with a great rate from a live smiling, helpful person. Again, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This month is going on my fourth with this finance company. I have gotten the run around with where I can go to pay my loan. The model app I installed will not give me an option to transfer from an outside account and the website is asking me for security questions I never set up to top it all off I can not get a rep on the phone until Monday. At this point I feel as though the company is trying to ensure my payment is late. So inconvenient!!!!!

I can't say enough about this credit union..first they have helped me get my credit back in line and fast too..there premium checking is the best account I've ever had...it comes with phone coverage that saves me 60 a month alone and that's not counting all of the many other discounts I recive, for instance America's first just saved me over 65 dollars a month on my home and auto insurance ,I got an awesome plan with tons of premium coverage thru liberty mutual..... ... stop banking at the estate othe banks and head down to America's first credit union...the carson city branch is the best in the world
