Alekona Kauai Vacation Rentals Koloa Rd, Koloa

First time visiting Kauai (have been to the other islands several times) and wanted to fully enjoy the laid back atmosphere so we wanted to get a place that was more like home than a hotel. We were so fortunate to have booked a condo in Poipu Sands with Alekona! They made sure we were fully taken care of, so friendly and professional! The place was well stocked and clean and the grounds were beautiful. I definitely recommend!!!!

We had an unpleasant experience. I'll let you be the judge after reading this review which I didn't want to write. We decided to splurge on this first vacation since our kid was born and booked this oceanfront cottage in Poipu. When we arrived everything looked too good to be true. Waterfront views and we could see turtles swimming from our room, but like everything in life what looks too good is often not real. Soon we realized that electricity was not working and we couldn't turn on AC or fan. We texted the host who arrived promptly and told us that this was a long standing problem. They said they will get an electrician but don't expect it to be fixed soon given it was the weekend. She should me how to use the breaker in backyard. We spent the night without AC with windows open and flickering lights and fan. We asked for a refund for the first night and they agreed to it. The next day we went out and got a message that the electrical problem can't be fixed and asked us to move to a different house. It was not a beachfront but was nice enough that we reluctantly agreed since we didn't want to be without AC or fans. We packed and moved at the end of day 2 with our toddler which wasn't fun. The house was nice and had a pool but we missed the ocean views. The next day: as we started enjoying this place we get an email that your check out is tomorrow. We still had 3 more days of vacation left so we called since I figured it was a mistake. Guess what, they did mean it. There were news guests coming in and the place was pre booked. I couldn't believe it they would do this to us. They said we could either go back to the old cottage without proper electricity or move to another home which is not as nice as the current one. I lost it at this point and asked to talk to the manager who didn't have the courtesy to even call . He called and told us that we will be refunded partially for the inconvenience caused but we have to pay for staying in this new home that we never wanted in the first place. We were forced to move yet again (3 times in 5 days) ultimately decided to go back to the old place and take our chances with unpredictable electricity rather than paying for homes which we never booked. They refunded us 50% even though I asked for a full refund for putting us through so much inconvenience. I wish I had booked this through Airbnb and I could have fought for refund but they basically started ignoring us when I told them how unhappy we were with the customer service and poor communication.

I have used Alekona Kauai Vacation Rentals for 3 visits and LOVE them. They have great communication, refunded immediately on a trip I had to reschedule, and they provide many extras, like grocery shopping to make your trip amazing!

This was absolutely the best vacation I ever had! Hoping to go back again very soon.

This property is beautiful, peaceful, like a piece of Heaven on earth. The rooms are spacious with a private bath for each room. We loved every minute spent in the home and on the property.

Ale kona Kauai made sure my family and I had EVERYTHING we needed during our 1 week stay!! Jessica, our contact at Ale Kona, was incredibly informative and accommodating and the house itself was impeccably clean and well kept. We will ALWAYS book with them going forward. We are 100% happy with the service they provided and would recommend them highly to anyone who asked.

Wow! I’ve been coming to Kaua’i my whole life- staying at the Sheraton, Koa kea & poipu kapili. I’ve never rented a house before bc it seems like a headache... I was SO wrong!! Michael at Alekona sent me links to available rentals In my price range, all of the rentals or on the beach or above on the golf course. There were 2 houses that looked AMAZING so I ended up staying half and half. Coming home to my apt after staying in these houses was so hard!! One of the houses was something out of a James Bond movie! So luxe and modern with a pool, jacuzzi, bonfire pit, swinging daybed, floor to ceiling windows etc etc etc!! I have some very fancy friends but this tops everything I’ve ever seen! Money-wise : I saved more renting than a hotel... so I’m going to always rent from now on!!! I hope Alekona Kauai has a sister company for more destinations!! They were awesome helping me plan this trip!! 🙌🏻
