Academy Bank N Church Rd, Kansas City

My husband went here today and they didn't want to open him a bank account the reason why I don't know. I called and asked what you needed he said a drivers license which he has so idk what the problem was. He also asked if he needed a debit card I mean you need a debit card linked to a bank account i would think so...so idk what whats going on with the individuals working there. Racist much.

Katrina at Academy Bank on Church Road was very helpful, polite, very respectful! She helped me get me what I needed and helped me with a loan to help me with big expenses! Great Job Katrina!

So thankful for Doug Beaver he is the best manager Academy Bank has ever had, he understands people and banking better than any bank manager I’ve ever met, he also has people skills and is a very fair person, keep this manager he is the best you’ve got.

I love banking with Academy Bank located inside the Wal-Mart off North Church. They are friendly and very knowledgeable in their services. I wouldn’t think about banking at any other location.

I've been with this bank for 10 years. It used to be good. Now you can tell that the workers hate their jobs (both the Kansas city and liberty locations) they hate dealing with customers and always try to force you to use the smart atm. Its always at least a 15 minute wait even just to deposit money. Customer service is definitely not their strong suit. I've given them ample times to work with me and they never do, so I'll be changing banks soon finally.

I've gone to this branch for years now, and they've always been really nice, as fast as they possibly can be, and just always very helpful when I have questions. Today, I came with a paperwork problem and the manager sat there with me figuring out how to solve it without costing a bunch or taking forever. This made my life so much easier, and I couldn't be more grateful! Highly recommend!

I love this place! I was nervous about setting up a new bank account and Korie helped me so much! She explained everything to me and made sure I was satisfied! Definitely recommend!

If I could give this bank a zero rating I would. I was with my previous bank for 7 years and never had any issues until Academy bought them out last year. I had two loans and three accounts with my prior bank. Today I'm shutting down all three accounts and will not be adding anymore loans through this company. They did not give any updates as to when my loans were due or for how much was due when they bought out the other bank. When trying to call up the bank they required so many forms of authentication it was ridiculous. They wanted the usual DOB, SSN, name, address, etc. But after verifying all of that information they also wanted the EXACT DATE that I opened up the account from SEVEN YEARS AGO and denied helping when I couldn't provide that information.

I have witnessed the manager of this particular location offer to close someone's account and when they asked if they would need to provide ID to do it, the manager answered no. I do NOT trust any establishment that will close an account without proper identification. I also have personally received mail about someone else's car payments. My name is not on their account and they have never lived at my address so there is absolutely no reason why I should be receiving their mail. Please do not trust the security of this bank. I will be closing my account as soon as possible.
