Academy Bank North Ave, Grand Junction

This bank specifically this branch has been a blessing for me. They are always warm and courteous and I always enjoy going in tbere. Not only do they excel at customer service but they make banking a more personable experience kind of like the old time banks that knew your name and kids. I LOVE THIS BRANCH.

Anthony Hensley and Riean Medley provided excellent customer service with utmost patience, respect, and responsiveness. My mom has a language barrier and is elderly and Anthony spent an hour helping her address long list of her banking needs in a calm, kind way that set my mom at ease. Riean provided friendly speedy notary service. They are a dynamic duo and super happy that mom will be taken care of by them even when I'm out of town.

Business run by crooks and thieves. Over 300$ in overdraft over night for automatic payments that posted before my paycheck. Ten days from Christmas and Absolutely no help. I’ll be closing my account soon. Stay away

I have had nothing but good experiences with this bank. The staff is personable and friendly, they're always willing to offer assistance and educate me on different processes as needed, and so far my experience with the customer service by phone has been great. The online website and the phone app are both well designed. Huge props to Felicity for the amount of help she has offered and for being an amazing person all around. I honestly haven't met another teller in all my years of banking that has shown such a willingness to help and was so genuinely kind. Overall, the staff at this branch deserve a break with these reviews as most if not all are from before they even worked here. Keep that in mind before you trust a star rating when choosing your next financial institution.

Tellers have always been professional and courteous. Some of the outlandish reviews evade me as any issue has always been resolved in a timely manner. Honestly, I have had little to no issues at this branch in the 6+ years I have been banking here.

Horrible experience at the Academy Bank in Rimrock WalMart. The rude unprofessional tellers couldn't be any less interested when I had fraudulent charges overdraw my account. Over & over this charge, obtained from stolen info, hit my account for the overdraft fees. I reported it & changed my checking & savings account numbers. But they let this fraud not only drain my accounts completely but put me in the negative. I didn't have ID, because it was stolen. Although they recognized me they wouldn't let me close the account or withdraw my money. But they allowed that previously reported fraud charge to access to my money for months. When I finally got new ID I happily went in to close my account FINALLY. But I couldn't because.... I was now in negative balance! They allowed not only all my money to be drained but put me in negative balance from this fraudulent charge that I reported to them right away. I will NEVER give them another chance. They have plenty of time to do their job but wouldn't. The tellers were smug & arrogant while my money was drained away & they never showed any concern for my situation. It was a horrible ridiculous nightmare. Now, the negative balance went to a collection company because I can't afford to pay it. Stay away from dishonest Academy Bank. Having an account there cost me tremendously in money & way too stressful & very depressing.

Worst bank , in the history of banks. Closed my account in August 2020, due to the fact, employees are incompetent. In January, 2021, I received notice the account was still open. Went into the North Ave branch, same male employee said he was closing my account for sure this time. In February, 2021, I received notice, the account is still open!!! Called customer service, transferred to someone who was supposed to close my account. She said she needed to call the branch. I told her they weren’t open. She called anyway, then came back on the line to tell me they weren’t open. Seriously?? Then she said she would call back. She left a voicemail, with no call back number to reach her. I called the number she called from. The introduction in the automated system did not say I was reaching academy bank, at all! It said something inaudible, which sounded like “resolve company”! Seriously!!! If you have an account with this bank, close it immediately!!! Shady things are going on! I now have to deal with closing this account a third time!!! Worst bank, ever!!! And charging me $5 for every month it remains open! Scandalous!!!

They can't do anything right the first time around, I've had nothing but problems since I've opened my account and then more added problems after making a joint account. They didn't merge my profiles so both my accounts could be visible on online banking, and then the manager Ryan ended up locking me out of my online banking so I cant even log in to see any accounts. And they can't help fix it over the phone and can only help try to fix the problem in person between 10 and 4. She was super rude everytime I talked to her about the situation because "its not something I can fix". Id still prefer academy over wells fargo, but at least wells fargo could do simple things right the first time.

As a student I love the ease of my free checking account. I use the ATM for deposits and mobile banking for watching my balances and depositing checks! The manager Ryan was nice and explained all of it to me and my parents.
