Academy Bank Grindstone Pkwy, Columbia

I'll preface this by saying that Kenneth (the manager) is excellent and extremely friendly. It's a shame it's wasted on such a horrible bank. I needed very time sensitive paperwork handled in order to withdraw money for legal reasons but nobody at the bank knew how to do anything without Kenneth there. I called the bank a couple hours before I showed up and the lady on the phone said all I had to do was fill out the paperwork and I'll be good to go. I had to leave work early just to make it there in time, only to be told that nobody there knew how to process the paperwork. I was told I had to come back tomorrow. I asked if they'll be open since there's a snow storm coming and the teller ASSURED me that they would be open regardless. They're closed now :) I would rather have my money in a cardboard box on the side of the road than this bank. I hope Kenneth finds another bank to work at because his talent is completely wasted on this horrible awful bank. There's about a million other reasons this bank is so awful but this is just the most recent event. I wish I could give it 0 stars. Stay away from academy bank.

Super helpful and super nice! Helped me set up my account even though I didn't have an ID, just needed my birth certificate and my social security number and it was all set up in 30 minutes at most.

Signing up for an account was so easy and the staff was so friendly and helpful! Ken, Jackie, and Ti were so sweet and made the process so quick! Highly recommend👍🏻

Worst bank ever. So quick to charge over drafts Changed my online profile login without me knowing had to wait on phone for 45 min before being able to talk to someone to fix it then used mobile deposit and my check is being held hostage for a damn week. Will be closing my account as soon as my check is released. WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS BANK TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!

The Manager and his staff are just amazing, they really go above and beyond to serve their customer, their customer service is awesome.

I have been banking here for years, through 3 different cities. The only issue I have ever had, was it took almost a month to receive my debit card in the mail. that was back in 2011. Since then if I needed a new card, I got it within 2 weeks. usually less time than that. Overall, I haven't had anything bad to say about this bank, and would highly recommend to anyone that has had trouble with their bank accounts in the past. Great second chance banking. Keep up the good work.

This Bank couldn't tell me why my debit card was being declined for a business purchase. They themselves couldn't reach their headquarters because the staff didn't know their own 6 digit security code, that they had to say over the phone, in order to gain access to tech support. Banking here is a burden as the employee turnover rate is essentially 100% because everybody I've ever met at this Bank eventually quits or gets transferred to a different location. Additionally they closed my savings accounts which had money in them, not a lot, but still closed them without my consent and they failed to notify me of changes to my account. This branch is a scam and is dangerous to your credentials.
