1st MidAmerica Credit Union Godfrey Rd, Godfrey

I was somewhat satisfied with 1st MidAmerica Credit Union when Olin Community Credit Union shifted their customers to them...not my personal choice. However, since there's been an issue with my Third Economic Impact payment winding up in the wrong account, I am extremely dismayed with the way THIS credit union has "handled" the situation. I will spare any readers of the minute details and just summarize. The 1st MidAmerica Credit Union representatives, except for 1 or 2 tellers, have been rude, unprofessional and even caught in their own lies in written communication to the Treasury Department. They've definitely made me feel like less than a valued customer. Whether I'll continue to do business with them is still a toss up.

Been banking with them for over 10 years and I have only dealt with one banker that was respectful and helpful. The rest of the staff I have dealt with here are utterly disrespectful and rude. When you reach out for help you expect help not “is there anything else I can do for you?” As I did not call to tell them my troubles, I called to RECEIVE HELP. I don’t recommend banking here, as a student or an adult.

Best place for your banking needs. Great customer service.

My experience with Fayetta Hollie has been HORRIBLE. How this “woman” works in the banking industry is beyond me. She is rude, disrespectful, cut me off, talked over me & interrupted me multiple times. Never apologized then hung up on me....once my car loan is paid off, I’m done with 1st Mid America. There are plenty of other banks that have much nicer associates. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Used to be a great Credit Union.

Ever since the Covid-19 has started the bank has had extremely slow service. If the inside is closed to the public why can’t they have at least three tellers at the drive thru? I probably spent 25 minutes at the bank this afternoon. It’s a little ridiculous if you ask me. It has been like this every time I come no matter what the time is.

This credit union needs to be audited. They offer NO loans to qualified minorities. If your white they will approve you with a 550 the same day. If you are black with a 700 they will have to call you back after 72 hours and still deny you. Their entire staff with multiple locations are whites only! This should be investigated.

Their overdraft fees are ridiculous. If your account is overdraft you get charged & your bill will not get paid . Oh wait but Luckily if you sign up for their overdraft “protection” they’ll still charge you. This bank is a complete joke !

They have several locations and all the conveniences. The people in the loan department are very friendly, as are most tellers. Some areas where they could use some improvement: *You might not feel particularly appreciated by the folks who answer the customer support line. *If you try to escalate an issue to a manager, they might not call you back. I recently had an issue and felt I had no avenue to address it. I left a negative review on Google, AND GOT A CALL FROM THE REGIONAL MANAGER the next day. That definitely shows a willingness to improve.

Service was horrible and very unprofessional! And still no one could tell me why I was charged a over drafted fee and I had to funds in my account!

Worst "credit union" I've ever dealt with. Can't wait to close our account and go elsewhere. 830 credit score 20% DTI. Pre approved me for a small loan on a truck then after i paid deposit said it had too many miles when I was purchasing for 3500 under retail price. Made me sign a personal loan at 10% interest. Never again!!!
